Forward a message, attachments and all

Pass an email on to somebody else without re-typing it or losing what was attached.

What it does

Open any message and click Forward. The original message goes out with its formatting intact and every attachment already ticked, so the person receiving it gets exactly what you got.

You can untick any attachment you do not want to pass on - useful when a supplier sends six files and only one is relevant - and add a note at the top explaining why you are forwarding it.

Automatic forwarding

Under Settings, Forwarding, you can send everything arriving at one address on to another one automatically. That is how most people run an address like info@ that should land in a real person's inbox.

The list shows only forwards that are actually switched on, so what you see is what is happening.

Worth knowing

Automatic forwarding sends a copy on to the other address; the message still lands in the original mailbox too, so nothing goes missing if the forward is later turned off.
